Extrospection

Contained within a completely darken room, Extrospection places viewers within an extreme altered reality, examining the limits of human perception and how we emotionally experience a space devoid of light.

Appearing to float as if suspended in space, glowing out of the darkness, the large-scale intertwined shape directs the viewer’s eyes around the space, splicing the darkness with interlacing arcs and gestural motions created from interlocking buckets illuminated from within. Mirrors intensify the illusory experience of spatiality, disorienting the viewer further by simulating an open void beyond the tangible walls of the room.
